You can now opt for renting home appliances via LG’s Rent-Up service

March 6, 2024

Upfront hefty payments? Not in this economy. Purchasing home appliances in this day and age is a pretty expensive affair, especially if you’re opting for one lump-sum payments. This need not be the case though, as LG has just launched its LG’s Rent-Up scheme which allows you to rent home appliances on a monthly payment basis.

Although rental schemes are in effect for its line of air purifiers and water purifiers, LG is going the extra mile by making more categories eligible for the Rent-Up service, including air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, TVs, and vacuum cleaners.

LG’s Rent-Up service will allow Malaysians to rent home appliances across these categories for a minimum period of 5 years to a maximum period of 7 years, depending on the range of product chosen. Once the rental period ends, customers may keep the product as theirs without additional payments, or opt to upgrade to newer LG products.

The scheme resembles very much like an installment plan, however, alongside the rented products, customers will benefit from comprehensive service packages encompassing self-service and scheduled visits from LG technicians, as well as standard warranty throughout the rental period. LG has also assured that the rented products are compatible with the LG ThinQ app, which enables customers to monitor their home appliances from their phones.

Justin Choi, Managing Director of LG Malaysia, says that the aim of the Rent-Up service is to equip Malaysians with innovative products and service without the burden of exorbitant upfront payments.

“What truly sets our rental service apart is our commitment to providing an effortless and seamless experience. As the sole provider offering a diverse range of product lines under our rental programme, we are excited for Malaysians to embrace an upgraded and smarter way of living,” said Justin.
