National Training Week (NTW) 2024: More than 32,000 FREE courses will be offered to Malaysians

The second instalment of the National Training Week (NTW) is happening from 24th June – 30th June 2024.

First inaugurated in 2023, the National Training Week is organized by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resources.

The initiative offers thousands of free courses aimed at equipping Malaysians with the necessary skillsets to excel in the job market. These courses encompass a multitude of skill areas, including Accounting & Finance, Computer & Information Technology, Law, Medical & Healthcare, Human Resources, and many more.

Ultimately, this year’s National Training Week focuses on five core pillars required to drive the country forward:

  • Future Skills (STEM, TVET, Digitisation, AI & Machinery)
  • Financial (Banks, Insurance, Investment & Fin-Tech)
  • Sustainable Development (Environment, Development, Equality & Prosperity)
  • Creativity & Innovation (Music, Arts, Culture & Creative Education)
  • Life Skills (Personal Development and Self Actualisation)

Speaking to Astro Awani, Soffian Amin, the Chief Programmes Officer of HRD Corp, mentioned that at the time of the interview (11 June 2024), there are already more than 32,000 courses being offered on the National Training Week website.

The courses itself are offered by Malaysian trainers and organizations, and is conducted through various methods such as classroom learning, e-learning, and self-paced modules.

Although primarily for professionals and young adults, there is no age limit to register for National Training Week. A quick browse through the website and you’ll find courses for pre-school children, teenagers, and even senior citizens – all easily filtered via the side panel.

To participate in NTW 2024, Malaysians must register on the National Training Week official website.

As a recap, last year’s edition of NTW saw a total of 21,000 free training courses made available to more than 129,000 registered Malaysians, recording a total of 503,000 training hours.
