1. Latest MySejahtera app updates

In a recent tweet by Malaysia’s Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, the MySejahtera app will be rolling out updates in to further improve its existing interface. The expected updates are as follow:

  1. Display user’s risk level, last checked-in location and vaccination status more prominently.
  2. Adding a Check out button for improved contact tracing.

These updates will surely ease the verification process at any entry point of a given premise as we continue to fight the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The latest version is currently available for iPhone users. An android and Huawei app store version is expected to arrive in the coming days.

2. Pokemon UNITE is open for pre-registration on iOS and Android devices

Pokémon UNITE which was released on Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021, will be available on Android and iOS devices on September 22, 2021.

Preregistration is now open on the App Store and Google Play Store. If you haven’t preregistered already, there’s an added incentive to do so!

  1. If preregistration totals reach 2,500,000, participants will receive a Pikachu Unite license.
  2. If preregistration numbers hit 5,000,000, participants will get a special Holowear—Festival Style: Pikachu!

3. Malaysia has the highest % of digital consumer in Southeast Asia

In a recent survey conducted by Facebook and Bain & Company, Malaysia currently has highest percentage of digital consumers (88% or 22 million people) followed by Indonesia (80% or 165 million people) and Singapore (79% or 4 million people).

Consumption aside, the report also reveals Malaysia’s openness to adopting e-wallets as a preferred payment option. According to the report, Malaysia saw a 87% growth in consumer’s preference for e-wallets. Nevertheless, debit and credit cards remains the most preferred transaction mode.
