1. OnePlus to further integrate its teams with OPPO
OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau announced in his recent forum thread that OnePlus has been integrating its teams with OPPO to better streamline operations and capitalize on additional shared resources.
The post goes on to explain that Pete Lau was given additional responsibilities to oversee product strategy for both OnePlus and OPPO the past year. It is during this time when Pete the benefits of integrating the teams before deciding to further integrate our organization with OPPO.
How will these changes affect fans of OPPO and OnePlus? Well, we don’t know for sure. Pete assures that OnePlus will continue to operate independently and host launch events. OxygenOS will also remain as the operating system for OnePlus devices outside of China market.
It is actually not much of a secret that OnePlus shares close ties with OPPO in terms of its offerings. With both brands under the same larger BBK Electronics Corporation umbrella, it does make perfect sense to streamline operations to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
Perhaps, this announcement is just to clear the air and confusion around the growing similarities between OnePlus and OPPO.
2. IQOO is coming to Malaysia!
For those who are unfamiliar, IQOO is a subsidiary of Vivo founded back in February 2019. IQOO now operates independently and produces higher-end gaming mobile phones.
The IQOO 7 is currently ranked number 2 on the Antutu scoreboard with a total score of 821461. Falling just a little bit behind the realme GT.
IQOO has yet to announce which devices will be launched here in Malaysia. But based on its recent post, it seems like the IQOO Z3 5G will be the first device to be launched.

3. Shopee no longer offer selections for logistics services starting 17th June.
Beginning 17 June 2021, shoppers on Shopee will no longer be given the option to select a preferred courier service provider for deliveries.
According to Shopee, implementing this system will enable a more effective and efficient management of delivery of each service provider, which will eventually benefit both buyers and sellers.
All official shipping channels are now categorized as standard shipping.
4. Maybank2U and Mobile Banking services will not be available on 19th June.
In case you missed the announcement, Maybank2U and its Mobile Banking services will be down for maintenance on Saturday 19th, June between 3:30am to 10:00am.
Furthermore, Maybank ATMs and Self Service Terminals (SSTs) will be only be available from 10:00 AM onwards instead of 06:00 AM on the same day.
5. Google opens its first retail store in New York.
Google’s retail store opens its doors to the public beginning 17th June 2021. This new space will be a natural extension of Google’s commitment to NYC and provide customers with hands-on interaction with their lineup of devices and services — from Pixel phones and Nest products to Fitbit wearables and Pixelbooks.
