Malaysia Newly Launched:
News:
1. Steam releases its first console called Steam Deck
The Steam Deck is powered by a custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.
Similar to the Nintendo Switch, the Steam Deck can be docked. The official dock props up your Steam Deck while connecting to external displays, wired networking, USB peripherals, and power. You can also use a powered USB-C hub, if you’ve got one lying around. Unfortunately, the official dock is not included and has to be ordered separately.
The Steam Deck comes in 3 storage options. Along with the difference in storage options, the different options also come with slightly different perks.
We regret to inform that the Steam Deck is only available for pre-orders in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. It is expected to ship in December 2021.
2. Microsoft announces release of Windows 365
Starting August 2, 2021, users across the world will be able to stream their Windows 10 or Windows 11 cloud pc from anywhere via any preferred device thanks to the launch of Windows 365.
Windows 365 utilizes the power and security of the cloud to allow users to create their very own personal cloud PC. Users will only need access to a browser to stream and access their cloud PC.
The introduction of Windows 365 will be a great tool for businesses that are constantly trying to keep track of various company-owned laptops and devices to ensure they are updated and secure.
Users will have the flexibility to select the required storage and ram needed for their cloud pc. We’re not too sure if there will be an option for an add-on graphics processor to support gaming.
3. YouTube Shorts is now available in Malaysia
Similar to TikTok and Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts is a short-form vertical video format that can easily be created and consumed directly from the YouTube app.
YouTube Shorts allow users to upload videos up to a maximum of 60 seconds. Users will also be able to add text, captions and other effects to their videos.
Viewers may find Shorts by tapping Shorts at the bottom of the YouTube app.
Users may also find Shorts:
- On the YouTube homepage.
- In the notifications.
- Checking their Subscriptions.
- Featured on creator’s channel page
YouTube Shorts was officially launched in September 2020, featuring 15-second videos — the same time limit as TikTok (though TikTok later expanded maximum video length, first to one minute, and then, recently, to three minutes). The service was first made available to creators in India, then rolling out to the U.S. in March 2021 and the UK in June.

Following multiple extensions to its “free trial”, Google finally hard imposes 1-hour meeting limits for any calls with over 3 participants.
Users will receive a notification at the 55 minute point if a session consists of more than 3 participants. Nevertheless, Free users can do 1-to-1 video chats for 24 hours, and group calls are capped at 100 participants and a 60-minute duration.
To overcome this limit, users will need to subscribe to Google Workspace. The Business Starter is the minimum plan which starts at RM20 per month.
