The MCMC announced that the registration for the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia Package will begin in the second quarter of 2022, which is around April to June of next year.

Additionally, the official website notes only full-time IHL students in the B40 age group are eligible for the government initiative.

The government is allocating RM450 million for gadgets, which averages to RM750 per tablet!

Moreover, the initiative will also include collaborations with several participating telecommunication providers. Among them are Celcom, Digi, Maxis, TM, U Mobile and YTL Communications.

Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul said during Budget 2022 that these telcos would also contribute RM65 million to the programme.

Furthermore, the MCMC noted that the package would benefit students in their online studies and research while also enabling them to stay connected to their family and friends.

It goes on to say that “now IPT students from B40 families can have devices and Internet access to experience more sustainable learning.”

Final Thoughts

The PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia Initiative is certainly a much-needed governmental aid. It would benefit many students who lack access to the internet and suitable gadgets for online learning.

We believe that this initiative will undoubtedly be beneficial to our country in the long run. After all, the youth of today is the future of tomorrow.
