Malaysia Artist Red Hong Yi releases her first NFT: Doge to the Moon

June 29, 2021

Having been inspired by the concept of cryptocurrency versus printable fiat currency, Malaysian artist Red Hong Yi decided to create her very first NFT called “Doge to the moon”.

The NFT is based on a six-part series called “Memebank”, which will involve spoofing and redesigning banknotes from different countries. As for the ‘Doge to the moon’ NFT, it is based on the Chinese Yuan.

Purchasing Doge to the Moon

The Doge to the Moon NFT is currently on auction via the Binance crypto trading platform. The bid that started at 0.105 (~RM931) Ethereum is currently going at 2 Ethereum (~RM17,743).

The top bidder will not only walk away with the NFT but also become the owner of an etched copper plate that can be used to print an unlimited supply of Doge to the moon fiat currency.

The auction is set to end on 11th July 2021. With that being said, it is important to note that Binance is not authorised to carry out cryptocurrency trading in Malaysia by the Securities Commission.

Behind the Scenes

Aside from the NFT, Red Hong Yi also released a behind the scenes video that goes in-depth into explaining the process of conceptualizing to realizing the project. The process was definitely a lot more challenging than she initially thought it would be.
