We have finally come to the end of CES 2022, with day 3 marking the final day of the event. The past 2 days have brought us many innovative products, and several have showcased some “interesting” ones.

From huge gaming monitors to colour-changing cars, let’s see what else the third day of CES 2022 has in store for us.

Samsung’s SolarCell Remote

The SolarCell Remote doesn’t need any batteries to operate – just the Sun and a router

Ever feel lazy to look for new batteries in your junk drawer?

Samsung empathised with users and innovated a new remote controller which replaces the need for batteries.

The Samsung SolarCell Remote employs a pair of wireless charging technologies (solar and RF energy harvesting), eliminating the need for batteries. It can be charged via sun or through radio frequency (RF). The RF signals from your internet router is converted into energy, allowing your remote to stay charged and functional.

The remote doesn’t need a charging base, and it does not have a lithium-ion battery. You may be wondering, if there’s no battery, where is the energy stored? The answer is a capacitor. It stores small amounts of energy in a way similar to static electricity.

Not having to buy batteries is a plus for anyone, and this also helps reduce e-waste created by the battery’s shells. Samsung’s innovation worked towards their direction of sustainability so kudos to them!

Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor

The Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor can track your blood glucose, ketones, lactate, and alcohol levels

Abbott is a healthcare company, and they were one of the keynote speakers at this year’s CES.

They presented the Abbott Lingo and it is a series of consumer ‘biowearables’, originally developed to help people with diabetes manage their condition.

This year, they have released a new sensor, Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor. It is intended to give athletes an insight on how their body uses glucose throughout their exercise.

It is essentially a fitness health tracker, monitoring your blood glucose, ketones, lactate, and alcohol levels, through a small probe under your skin. Athletes can analyse the levels of these components and adjust their lifestyle accordingly.

There are mixed reactions from the public about this product. It is still under development so you can take your time forming an opinion about it.

Noveto N1

The Noveto N1 is dubbed an ‘invisible headphone’ by the company

A mini soundbar that can only be heard by the user’s own ear? This one is a cool idea – Noveto even dubbed it the ‘invisible headphone’.

Using what they call Smart Beaming, it creates a binaural audio experience by transmitting ultrasound silently through the air. Two pockets of sound are beamformed outside the ear, creating the same effect as when wearing a pair of headphones.

Others in the room will only be able to hear slight whispers while the user indulges in the 3D spatial audio. It has an AI-based built-in face, gesture and sound recognition. This allows the device to track your ears and ensure the sound hits the perfect spot.

For people that suffer from headaches or listening fatigue when wearing the headphones for too long, the Noveta N1 addresses exactly that.

End of day 3

There you have it, some of the releases on the last day of CES 2022! Many more products released during the course of these 3 days; some doing so as an official product release, and some doing it as a concept trial for people to experience their products hands-on.

The virtual experience from CES 2021 has surely made people appreciate the physical presence of booths and products that they can see and touch. CES 2022 has officially come to an end, I hope you enjoyed and found some products as interesting as I did!
