Here we introduce the all-new Samsung projector – The Freestyle. It’s a portable projector that can produce 1080p imagery from 30 inches up to 100 inches across. The Freestyle offers a Samsung smart TV and a movie theatre experience wherever you go.

Design

The Freestyle is an ultra-compact projector you can easily carry with you. It’s small, but it packs a punch! Being only 6.7 inches tall and 800 grams heavy, you can easily throw it in your tote bag or backpack. 

This projector comes with a 180-degree aluminium cradle and a flat base, allowing you to tilt the projection on any surface, including the ceiling.

Specs

The Samsung projector can project an image up to 100 inches in diameter and 550 lumens of brightness. Even with the lights on, you can still see the image clearly with its impressive contrast; it helps that the projected picture is also 1080p. Furthermore, it’s supported with HDR100 and has a refresh rate of 60Hz.

The Freestyle has three picture mode presets – Standard, Dynamic, and Movie. Movie mode offers a similar experience to Samsung’s high-end television models where the picture has enhanced contrast and colour.

Features

The Samsung Projector also has auto-focus, smart calibration, and auto-alignment, which you can modify from your device. Thus, ensuring a crisp and vibrant picture regardless of the wall or screen’s texture or colour. The smart calibration feature is what automatically adjusts colour and brightness.

Moreover, the Freestyle features a Digital Keystone Correction function where it automatically adjusts and projects a squared image, even when it’s projecting on an angled surface. 

Furthermore, it has an auto-levelling feature where the projector can present a straight image even as it’s standing on an uneven surface.

Samsung’s equipped the Freestyle with a built-in speaker too. Its speaker wraps around the projector’s entire circumference, offering 360-degree sound. There are touch-capacitive controls on the projector, so you can adjust the volume without a remote control. You can use the Freestyle as a speaker too.

The Samsung projector also has an HDMI, USB-C port, and a toggle switch for its microphone. It’s intended to be charged by a power outlet, but you can charge it with compatible power banks. You can also connect your game consoles via the HDMI port. 

In addition, the Freestyle offers Game mode, where the latency decreases from 70 milliseconds to 43.2 milliseconds.

What’s more, it possesses the same software – Tizen, the same software as Samsung’s smart TVs. The Freestyle also has access to all streaming services. Not to mention, it offers smart assistant support and mobile mirroring function. Just remember to connect it to WiFi.

Hence, the Freestyle isn’t just a portable projector. It’s also a smart speaker with a custom lighting solution. You can also project a virtual window or a congratulations message.
