REDMI Pad 2 9.7 series: Snapdragon powered tablets with 7600mAh battery, from RM569
There’s yet another budget tablet hitting our shelves, with the REDMI Pad 9 9.7 lineup following the likes of the Honor Pad X8b and Infinix Xpad 30E. Available in WiFi-only and 4G-enabled options, the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 is a more compact alternative to the 11-inch REDMI Pad 2, and also drops the MediaTek chipset for a Snapdragon one.
REDMI Pad 2 9.7 series Malaysia pricing and availability
The REDMI Pad 2 9.7 series is now available in Malaysia from all Xiaomi stores nationwide, the Xiaomi Malaysia website as well as their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. Here’s how much they’ll cost:

REDMI Pad 2 9.7 series specs
The REDMI Pad 2 9.7 lineup comes in your choice of Graphite Gray or Silver colour options, and the tablets themselves measure just 7.4mm slim, with Xiaomi claiming that they’ve pass over 40 durabilty tests too. There’s a slight difference though between the two tablets; the WiFi-only model gets a full metal unibody design, while the 4G-capable one has an extra strip from the top to the bottom of the back panel.
The screen itself is a 9.7-inch LCD panel pushing a 2048 by 1290 resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, with an up to 120Hz refresh rate, an up to 240Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 600nits in outdoor mode. There’s also TUV Rheinland low blue light and flicker free certifications for reduced eye strain.
Under the hood, the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 series is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 system-on-chip. That 6nm chipset is mated to 4GB of LPDDR4X memory and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 out of the box. You’ll also get a 7600mAh battery keeping the lights on, with support for 18W fast charging via USB-C.
As for the cameras, there’s an 8MP, f/2.0 camera on the back while for video calls and selfies the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 series gets a 5MP, f/2.2 shooter up front. Other features of note include stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio certification along with a 3.5mm audio jack.
