Huawei MatePad Mini: Ultralight 8.8″ tablet now in Malaysia, priced at RM2,399
Huawei Malaysia has debuted their latest tablet in Malaysia, the Huawei MatePad Mini. The MatePad Mini stands in stark contrast to their previous slates, eschewing the larger form factor in favour of an ultralight, ultraportable tablet.

The Huawei MatePad Mini is now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with a recommended retail price of RM2,399. You’ll be able to find it on sale at all Huawei Experience Stores, the Huawei Malaysia website as well as their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TIkTok Shop.
However, you’ll be able to snag it at just RM2,199 during the pre-order, along with other free gifts such as the Huawei M-Pencil Pro worth RM599, a folio cover worth RM199 and WPS Office 3.0 worth RM299. That’s on top of a 3-year one time free battery replacement, a 1-year two times free PaperMatte Display Care, and a 1-year free APAC warranty.
Huawei MatePad Mini specs and features
The Huawei MatePad Mini is a surprisingly small tablet. At just 5.2mm thin and 260g light, it’s lighter than the iPad Mini and is even almost as light as the 233g iPhone 17 Pro Max. It combines its magnesium alloy frame with a 3D vegan fiber back panel, and comes in this pastel shade of Spruce Green.
The screen itself is an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte display, the first time Huawei has used a Flexible OLED panel in a non-Pro tablet. It pushes a 2.5K resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate, with full coverage of the P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 1800nits. The PaperMatte display meanwhile allows for a paper-like feel when using a stylus, along with keeping glare at bay.
Powering the Huawei MatePad Mini is a Kirin 9010B system-on-chip, with the six core chip mated to 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. It comes with HarmonyOS 4.3 out of the box, and keeping the lights on is a 6400mAh battery with support for 66W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging.
You’ll also find a dual rear camera setup on the MatePad Mini, with a 50MP, f/1.8 main camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide shooter, while upfront is a 32MP, f/2.4 camera for selfies and video calls. There’s a stereo speaker setup too, along with a fingerprint sensor on the power button. Accessories for the MatePad Mini includes the Huawei M-Pencil Pro stylus and the MatePad Mini Folio Cover.
