Razer says it’s already 78% towards its 2030 value chain decarbonisation target

Razer has released its FY2025 Sustainability Report, revealing that it has already achieved 78% of its value chain decarbonisation commitments under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), four years ahead of its 2030 target.

According to the gaming brand, its Scope 3 (value chain) emissions dropped by 6.1% compared to FY2024. These emissions cover areas such as manufacturing, suppliers and logistics, which typically make up the biggest share of a tech company’s carbon footprint.

One of the more curious highlights from Razer involves their Synapse 4 app. Razer says it applied green software engineering principles to the latest version of its peripheral management software, resulting in a claimed 99.32% reduction in software-related emissions.

On the sustainability front, Razer says all of its corporate offices have been powered by 100% renewable energy since 2022, three years ahead of its original 2025 target. The company has also rolled out e-waste recycling and device take-back programmes across all RazerStores.

“Real progress in climate action stems from long-term partnerships and shared value-chain accountability.

We are creating an impact that extends far beyond our own operations by collaborating across our ecosystem to improve emissions reporting, build capability, and deploy practical solutions,” – Kenneth Ng, Razer Global Sustainability Lead

On top of that, Razer is working with the Asia Pacific Green Alliance (APGA) to help suppliers improve sustainability reporting. It also plans to use agentic AI tools to simplify emissions reporting and data management for businesses.

Razer says these initiatives are part of its broader #GoGreenWithRazer roadmap and Climate Transition Plan, which targets a 90% reduction in absolute emissions by 2030.
