Honor X9e Pro coming soon to Malaysia, with three ‘extreme’ upgrades

After teasing it during Malaysia’s National Day Parade, Honor has now officially confirmed that the Honor X9e Pro will be heading its way to Malaysia.

This would be the first time the Honor X series has gotten a ‘Pro’ grade model, while the ‘e’ in its name, according to Honor, represents ‘extreme’. Specifically, it’s to highlight the three major upgrades to the Honor X9e Pro: ‘extreme’ battery capacity, ‘extreme’ drop resistance and ‘extreme’ water resistance.

There’s no actual specs or hardware details released by Honor so far though, so it’s hard to visualise what exactly the brand means by ‘extreme’. Honor has at least teased that the Honor X9e Pro may feature the industry’s largest battery capacity to date. There will also be ‘extreme’ drop resistance, hinting at upgraded durability, along with ‘extreme’ water resistance, likely signalling a high ingress protection rating.

We’re curious about that claim though as while smartphones with 10,000mAh batteries are becoming more common, the China-only Honor X80 Pro Max does take the crown with its 11,000mAh battery, and the Honor X9e Pro could end up being the global version of that smartphone. That being said, smartphones with larger batteries do exist though they’re usually from niche brands like the Ulefone Armor 33 Pro and its 25,500mAh battery.
