TikTok Shop will raise its commission fees for most product categories in Malaysia starting 31 October 2026. The revised rates apply to both Marketplace and Mall sellers, while orders placed before this date will still follow the current rates.

According to TikTok Shop, the revision is part of a wider reinvestment strategy, with the money going into programmes that drive buyer demand, support sellers and keep the marketplace safe and sustainable. This is the platform’s second major commission revision in just over a year, following the last one on 13 September 2025.

Based on the updated rate table, rates are going up for the vast majority of subcategories, from fashion and electronics to home, toys and beauty. At the top end, non-BXP Mall sellers will pay as much as 20.52% for Fragrance, Makeup, Men’s Care, Nail Care and Hand & Foot Care, up from 18.90%.

Interestingly, sellers in the Bonus Extra Program (BXP) will see bigger increases than non-BXP sellers. For most fashion items such as women’s tops and dresses, the Marketplace rate for BXP sellers rises from 10.26% to 12.74%, while non-BXP sellers only go from 14.58% to 14.91%. The biggest jump goes to Water Sports and Winter Sports, where the BXP Marketplace rate climbs by 4.64 percentage points, from 8.10% to 12.74%.

Meanwhile, five essential categories are getting cheaper, namely Feminine Care, Nasal & Oral Care, Medical Supplies, OTC Medications & Treatments, and Nursing & Feeding. Feminine Care, for example, drops from 14.58% to 12.10% for non-BXP Marketplace sellers, while Nursing & Feeding falls from 9.72% to 6.80%.

As for categories that stay the same, Pantry Food keeps its current rates, while Baking, Fresh & Frozen Food, Milk & Dairy, and Staples & Cooking Essentials remain at 0%. Rates for pre-owned fashion items such as bags, footwear and watches are also unchanged. On top of that, Beer, Wine & Spirits has been added as a new subcategory, with rates from 9.51%.

So how much will a seller pay per order? Based on TikTok Shop’s example, a non-BXP Marketplace seller selling a guitar for RM1,000 with a RM100 discount will pay RM116.64 in commission at 12.96%, RM34.02 in transaction fees, and a Platform Support Fee of RM0.50. That brings the total to RM151.16 per order, or RM180.32 for Mall sellers.

Alongside the revision, TikTok Shop is adding more platform-funded shipping vouchers, free economy shipping for shoppers in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, and co-funded discounts during mega sales. It is also continuing its RM250 million support for local sellers this year, which combines the RM180 million cost of living initiative launched with KPDN in June and RM70 million from JomLokal Booster 2.0.
