GTA VI extended look coming to Netflix on 27 Aug, but can Malaysians even watch it?

Grand Theft Auto VI is undoubtedly the most hotly anticipated video game of this year, this decade and arguably of all time. We’ve been drip fed information about it so far, and it seems that Netflix of all people will be giving us our biggest look at it yet.
The developers Rockstar Games have announced that they’re teaming up with the streaming platform to premiere their Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look trailer. They even had a trailer to announce the extended look, which revealed that it will be dropping on Netflix at 3PM ET, 27 August (3AM, 28 Aug local time).
However, if you thought of staying up to actually watch it on Netflix, then you’re out of luck. When we went over to the Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look page on Netflix, we were greeted with a sign that says ‘Oh no! This title currently isn’t available to watch in your country.‘

Does that mean we won’t be able to watch GTA VI: An Extended Look then? Well unless Netflix changes its location restrictions, it seems that Malaysians won’t be able to on the streaming platform at least.
That being said, you can still watch it—you just need to wait a little longer. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will have a delayed launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel at 9PM ET, 27 August (9AM, 28 August local time).
So even if you’re uber hyped for GTA VI, there’s probably no need to set your alarms to catch it on Netflix at 3AM. Instead, you can probably watch it over a cup of coffee the next day on YouTube instead.
