Google Wallet now supports RHB debit and credit cards
Customers of RHB Bank can now add their RHB credit and debit cards to Google Wallet, although it’s only limited to Visa cards at this point in time.
To those unfamiliar, adding credit and debit cards to Google Wallet essentially means having a digital copy of the cards stored on your Android devices. This allows users to enjoy seamless and contactless payment transactions on any NFC-enabled Android device where Google Wallet is compatible, including smartphones, tablets, and smart watches.
One benefit of this is that users no longer need to carry around their physical credit or debit cards, and can rely solely on their devices to make in-store payments, provided the store supports contactless payment terminals.
RHB Bank has since released a 3-step guide on how customers can add their credit and debit cards to Google Wallet:
- Step 1: Open ‘Google Wallet’ and Tap ‘+Add to Wallet’
- Step 2: Scan or enter your card details and follow the on screen instructions
- Step 3: Set your RHB Visa Cards/-i as default card and you are now ready to use Google Pay.
Once your credit and debit cards have been added, you can then pay via the cards through Google Wallet simply by holding your device near the card reader, much like you would with the physical cards.
According to RHB, any personal Visa Credit or Debit cards are eligible for Google Pay. To see the full list of eligible cards, click here.
