Yoodo closure: No more new signups from 19 June onwards, existing users will continue with CelcomDigi

June 14, 2024

Closure-bound telco Yoodo has provided an update on its services almost a month after announcing its imminent discontinuation slated for 28 August 2024.

In a page-wide statement sprawled across its official website, Yoodo states that it will terminate the following services from the Yoodo app starting 19 June 2024:

  • New SIM Order (except replacement SIM)
  • New SIM Activation (except replacement SIM)
  • Account Registration
  • Invite Friends
  • Customised Validity Extension

In regards to the first two, although new SIM orders and activations are terminated, existing users can still order SIM replacements if they’re still committed to the telco before its official closure.

Yoodo assures that its existing services (data, voice, and SMS) will continue without any interruptions.

The termination of such features essentially means the brand is phasing out in stages, where new users will no longer be accepted, and existing users’ customized mobile plans can no longer be extended.

As per the official FAQ page on the Yoodo website, existing users now have three options:

  • Option 1: Port out to any telco of your choice
  • Option 2: Terminate your subscription with Yoodo; a request can be made via the Yoodo app
  • Option 3: Continue your existing plan with CelcomDigi

Yoodo clarifies that if existing users do not wish to port out of Yoodo, their current subscription plan will continue under CelcomDigi Prepaid 5G, although they did not specify which plan.

If you have remaining Yoodo credits and wish to port-out, you can request a refund by filling out the refund form [https://www.yoodo.com.my/credits-refund-form] between 1 July 2024 to 29 August 2024, after which your request will be processed and you will be refunded within 30 working days after its submission.

Please note that the refund form is not yet active at the time of writing (14 June 2024).

For further assistance, users can contact Yoodo’s Care Support Team via WhatsApp (+6011-5622 2222) or visit the official FAQ page.
