Vibe Mobile signs up with U Mobile, offers 5G plans from RM17/month

U Mobile has announced a new MVNO partnership with Vibe Mobile, which will see the newly launched mobile brand ride on U Mobile’s 4G and 5G network infrastructure.

The partnership enables Vibe Mobile, operated by Elite Links (M) Sdn Bhd, to offer mobile services including data, voice, domestic and international services, as well as roaming capabilities using U Mobile’s Ultra 5G network. For Vibe Mobile, this lets them focus on their service design, branding and customer engagement, with U Mobile supporting core mobile connectivity.

According to U Mobile, the collaboration is part of its broader strategy to expand its MVNO ecosystem by allowing partners to leverage its existing network infrastructure while focusing on branding, customer engagement and digital services.

You can already head over to the Vibe Mobile website and pick out one of their prepaid plans, with the MVNO planning to launch postpaid options later this year. They currently offer the following:

• Vibe17 – 15GB data, 50min voice, 10 SMS for 30 days (RM17/month)
• Vibe27 – 50GB data, 100min voice, 10 SMS for 30 days (RM27/month)
• Vibe37 – 200GB data, 150min voice, 10 SMS for 30 days (RM37/month)
• Vibe47 – 300GB data, unlimited voice, 10 SMS, 30 days (RM47/month)

At time of writing, it doesn’t appear that there are any contract restrictions, so you can try it out for just a month if you want to. That being said, it does seem that you can only get a Vibe Mobile SIM from one of their Vibe Mobile dealers in-store for now.
