Tune Talk launches integrated eCommerce platform within its app

Tune Talk has announced that it’s launching Tune Talk Shop, a fully integrated eCommerce platform that lives inside the Tune Talk app. The telco says that they are the first telco in Malaysia to roll out a complete eCommerce experience in its mobile app, and is part of their move to focus on a value-driven digital ecosystem.

This new Tune Talk Shop is a native layer within the Tune Talk app, rather than a tacked on rewards catalogue. This means that Tune Talk subscribers can browse, checkout, pay for and get their products from anywhere in Malaysia all within the Tune Talk app itself. The telco claims that there will be over 20,000 curated products on sale, and users will be able to use Tune Talk Points to pay for them too.

While Tune Talk themselves own and operate the end-to-end experience as well as the payment environment, they have partnered up with Presto for the backend infrastructure, which includes the product catalogue and nationwide delivery.

Tune Talk added that their ecosystem strategy is paying off, with strong user engagement since the introduction of games and drama into their app back in May last year. The telco claims that average daily app usage among their users has reached 36 minutes, which is approximately 400% higher than the global average of time spent in telco apps. They now have over 1.8 million subscribers nationwide, with Tune Talk Shop the latest step in expanding their digital ecosystem.
