TuJu app hit by technical disruptions after user surge, LLM apologises

By Alyaa Najwa October 22, 2026

TuJu has run into technical problems following a sudden spike in users, shortly after the government recommended the local navigation app as an alternative to Waze. The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) has since apologised for the inconvenience, saying it is working to get the app back on track.

In a statement today, LLM said the disruptions came after a significant increase in users following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call for Malaysians to consider using local navigation apps. The move has since boosted TuJu’s popularity, with the app surpassing 700,000 downloads, Bernama reported.

To fix the issue, LLM is working with the app’s developer, Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd (PCSB), to identify what caused the disruptions, restore system stability and increase the app’s capacity to handle more users. On top of that, LLM said it is also looking into user feedback on TuJu’s navigation features, route accuracy and overall user experience, with improvements to be rolled out to make the app more stable, accurate and user-friendly.

The authority also acknowledged that users’ trust has to be earned through reliable service. As such, its efforts to strengthen TuJu will go beyond system stability to cover navigation functions, information accuracy and the app’s ability to meet users’ needs.

As part of the government’s focus on cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, LLM said it will continue working with the Ministry of Works, the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and other relevant parties to strengthen the local navigation ecosystem, including data security and governance.

For now, LLM says updates on the app’s recovery will be shared through its official channels and those of TuJu. If you’ve run into problems with the app, you can send your complaints or feedback via email to feedback@prosignalconsortium.my.
