Spotify will finally let you turn off video content on all your devices

If you’re a Spotify user and find yourself annoyed by how much video is on a music streaming platform, you’re not alone. The Swedish giant themselves have realised this and are now introducing more control over in-app videos, letting you choose between maintaining an audio-first experience or for a video-enhanced one.
These new video controls are already being rolled out to users globally, with Family Plan managers in particular being able to turn on or off video content for any plan members via their subscription settings. There will also be additional video settings that let you decide how videos will appear in your app, rolling out this month to all users regardless of their subscription status.

To access and change your video controls, simply head over to the Settings page in the Spotify app, and you can choose between Canvas looping visuals or videos for music and podcasts to be turned on or off. These settings will apply across all your devices, from mobile and desktop to web and TV. For free users, you may still see video ads, along with Canvas-like visuals on some audio ads.
