Samsung Wallet now supports Maybank MAE QR payments in Malaysia

Samsung Malaysia and Maybank have announced that they’ll be working together to bring QR payment support to Samsung Wallet, making Malaysia the first market to receive the feature. This means that all eligible Samsung Galaxy users can access Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay directly within Samsung Wallet.

The new integration allows users to launch QR payments with a quick swipe into Samsung Wallet before completing the transaction through Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay service. The idea is to reduce the number of steps required to make payments, whether you’re buying coffee, groceries or paying at restaurants.

Beyond local DuitNow QR payments, the feature also supports Maybank’s cross-border QR payment network, allowing users to make QR payments in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia where supported.

On top of that, you’ll also earn Samsung Rewards points for every QR payment made through Samsung Wallet. The points can later be redeemed for Samsung products or vouchers via the Samsung Members app.

The Samsung Wallet QR Payment feature has already started rolling out and is available on eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphones via the latest Samsung Wallet and software update.

To celebrate the launch, Samsung and Maybank are running a campaign from 28 July until 30 October 2026, offering rewards worth up to RM500,000 in total. Eligible users who activate QR Payment in Samsung Wallet will receive RM5, while those who continue using the feature can earn up to RM15 in additional cashback or vouchers through qualifying transactions.
