Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: The classic foldable for productivity
While a lot of the hype is understandably on the redesigned Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, for those of you seeking the more classic, tall-boy look, it still exists in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Positioned as the more productivity and multitasking-focused device, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra retains the same taller aspect ratio as before. The cover screen is a 6.5-inch, FHD+ panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 over it, while the main screen is the square-ish 8-incher pushing a 2256 x 2504p resolution, with Flex Titanium technology over it for crease resistance. Both panels are Dynamic AMOLED 2X, with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy mobile platform, mated to up to 16GB of memory and up to 1TB of storage. It runs OneUI 9 out of the box, skinned over Android 17, with Samsung guaranteeing a minimum of 7 years of software support.
It’s the cameras though that has gotten the biggest upgrades. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra now sports a main 200MP, f/1.7 camera, flanked by a 50MP, f/1.9 ultrawide and a 10MP, f/2.4 telephoto offering 3x optical zoom. That puts it close to what the Galaxy S26 Ultra offers, albeit without the extra 50MP 5x telephoto on the slab. You’ll also find two 10MP, f/2.2 selfie cameras on the Z Fold 8 Ultra in each display.
As for battery life, the Z Fold 8 Ultra gets their biggest battery on a Samsung foldable yet, with a 5,000mAh capacity and support for 45W wired fast charging, 20W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Other features of note include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, support for Samsung DeX, stereo speakers and an IP48 dust and water resistance rating.
