Realme 16 5G: Stylish midranger with 7000mAh battery, priced at RM1,599
Realme has announced yet another midrange smartphone in Malaysia, this time the Realme 16 5G. Part of their core number series lineup, the Realme 16 5G features a familiar iPhone Air-like design, with the Chinese manufacturer claiming it to be a light and comfortable device.

The Realme 16 5G is available in just a single configuration with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, regularly priced at RM1,599. Already available from their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop as well as Realme Brand Stores and authorised dealers nationwide, early birds can also snag it for its early bird price of RM1,499.
On top of its RM100 discount, early birds will be able to get free gifts worth up to RM537 too. These include an Aisolove handheld fan, a one year extended warranty and a 180-days screen crack warranty.
Realme 16 5G specs
The Realme 16 5G is available in Air White and Air Black colourways, perhaps hinting at its iPhone Air-like design with its horizontal camera bar located up top on its rear panel. The phone itself measures 8.1mm thin and weighs in at 183g, and has a soft back panel with a sand-like texture along with an anti-fingerprint coating over it. The Air White in particular has a multi-layered gradient back panel that shimmers in the light.
As for its display, you’ll find a 6.57-inch AMOLED display pushing a 1080p resolution with support for a 120Hz refresh rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, up to 1400nits of brightness in high brightness mode and up to 4200nits local peak brightness. There’s also a layer of DT Star D+ glass over it for scratch resistance.
Under the hood, the Realme 16 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo system-on-chip, mated to 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It comes with Android 16 out of the box skinned with Realme UI 7.0 over it.
As for its cameras, the Realme 16 5G comes with a main 50MP, f/1.8 camera flanked by a 2MP, f/2.4 monochrome sensor, while up front is a 50MP, f/2.4 selfie shooter. A cool feature though is the small selfie mirror in the camera bar, making it easier to take selfies with your rear camera. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 7000mAh battery with support for 60W fast charging. You’ll also find stereo speakers and IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance.
