ASUS ExpertBook Ultra: The CEO’s dream business laptop is now a reality

Thin-and-light laptops usually come with compromises. You either get portability without power, or performance with extra weight and heat.
The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra tries to break that formula entirely.
Starting from just 990g and measuring only 10.9mm thin, this is one of the lightest premium productivity laptops we’ve handled. However, ASUS is still packing in Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors, a 50W thermal design, enterprise-grade security and a surprisingly capable cooling system into a device they’re calling the ‘flagship of the industry’.
And honestly? The first thing that stood out wasn’t the specs. It was the weight.

Picking it up with one hand, even while opened, feels slightly ridiculous at first because your brain expects something this thin to flex or wobble. But the magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis feels solid throughout, with very little flex on the keyboard deck or display. Compared to carrying a typical 1.5kg laptop daily, the difference is immediately noticeable.
Surprisingly capable for such a thin laptop

The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra comes equipped with up to the flagship Intel Core Ultra X7 358H AI processor with an integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics packing 12 Xe cores. ASUS claims its graphics performance can outperform an RTX 4050 in certain workloads, which at first may sound ambitious for something this compact. You’ll be able to have dozens of Chrome tabs, Excel sheets, Word docs, Teams calls, and even light 4K video editing and casual gaming on the side without feeling like it was struggling.

More importantly, performance stayed consistent over time instead of dropping sharply after a few minutes. ASUS credits this to its new ExpertCool Pro thermal system, which uses dual fans and a triple rear exhaust setup to maintain airflow across the CPU, SSD and internal components. Even during heavier workloads, the keyboard remained surprisingly comfortable to use.
One of the nicest OLED displays on a business laptop
The 14-inch touchscreen 3K Tandem OLED panel is as far as we easily one of the highlights here. Videos and movies look fantastic, HDR brightness peaks at up to 1400 nits, you get a super smooth refresh rate and ASUS claims Delta-E <1 colour accuracy with full DCI-P3 coverage. But the bigger deal is actually the anti-glare coating as it’s the first and only laptop with anti-glare Tandem OLED in the market.

Most OLED laptops are still extremely reflective, especially under office lights or café environments. The ExpertBook Ultra’s matte OLED display makes a huge difference in daily usability, especially during longer work sessions.
You’re also getting a six-speaker Dolby Atmos setup, a large haptic touchpad, a super silky keyboard and surprisingly comprehensive I/O ports despite the thin chassis. All of this makes it a great laptop for long sessions on your laptop without needing to be distracted by having to get an external keyboard, mouse, headphones or a dongle.
Built for professionals, not your average user

Unlike typical premium consumer laptops, the ExpertBook Ultra leans heavily into enterprise and professional usage. It includes ASUS ExpertGuardian security features, hardware-level BIOS and TPM protection, plus compliance with the NIST SP 800-193 security standard. The pre-installed ASUS MyExpert tool also incorporates AI into your daily workflow to help you streamline tasks and simplify your work.

Durability is also a major focus. ASUS says that all of their ASUS Expert Series, including the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra have passed 24 MIL-STD 810H tests, while the Nano Ceramic coating is designed to resist scratches, stains and daily wear better than standard aluminum finishes. You even get ExpertLumi lighting for a welcoming ambient glow when you boot it up.
And of course it goes without saying that security and durability is something that ASUS Business offers across the entire Expert product range.
An ultraportable workstation that actually feels practical

The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra feels like ASUS trying to redefine what an ultraportable workstation should be.
It’s absurdly light, impressively thin, and still manages to feel practical instead of compromised. More importantly, it doesn’t feel like a “spec sheet laptop” designed purely for benchmarks.
For mobile professionals, creators, or anyone constantly carrying their laptop around all day, this might be one of the more interesting premium productivity laptops launching this year.
