Asus refreshes ExpertBook P series of business laptops, now starts from RM4,799
Fresh off launching the ExpertBook Ultra, Asus’ business division is now introducing not one, not two but three new laptops in Malaysia. Part of their ExpertBook P lineup, these business-grade laptops offer enterprise-grade reliability with AI-powered features for more productivity to everyday professionals.
All of these laptops feature the Taiwanese brand’s signature military-grade durability, with Asus claiming they’ve tested it to ensure they can endure everyday bumps, drops and spills that can happen at the workplace. That’s on top of reinforced I/O ports that have been tested for up to 9kg of physical force.
Software-wise, these new ExpertBook P series laptops also feature their Asus AI ExpertMeet tool, which includes features such as AI Meeting Minutes to automatically track and organise discussion points and AI Translated Subtitles for real-time multilingual translations. You’ll also find enhanced security such as a discrete TPM 2.0 chip, secured-core PC, commercial-grade BIOS and free McAfee+ Premium.
Asus ExpertBook PM5 G2
Starting off with the flagship member of the P series lineup, the ExpertBook PM5 G2 stands out as the only Copilot+ PC here thanks to the up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor, with 32GB of DDR5 memory and 1TB of SSD storage as standard. Available in 14 and 16-inch displays, they come with OLED panels pushing a WUXGA resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, along with a peak brightness of 300nits.
Keeping the lights on is a 70Whr battery, while for I/O you get two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-C 4.0 port, another USB-C 3.2 port, an Ethernet jack, a HDMI 2.1 output and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Other features of note include a 5MP webcam with Windows Hello and privacy shutter as well as a spill-resistant backlit chiclet keyboard.
The ExpertBook PM5 G2 starts at RM9,399, and will be available exclusively through the Asus Malaysia eStore and Asus ExpertBook official store on Shopee and Lazada.
Asus ExpertBook P5 G1
Moving on to the ExpertBook P5 G1, this comes with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, mated to 32GB of DDR5 and a 512GB SSD as standard. Both its 14-inch and 16-inch configurations offer OLED panels pushing a WUXGA resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, capable of 300nits of brightness.
The rest of the hardware is pretty similar to the PM5 G2, with the only difference being that it isn’t a Copilot+ PC (though it’s still AI-capable) and that being an Intel device, the USB-C 4.0 port is a full Thunderbolt 4 port instead.
The ExpertBook P5 G1 starts at RM7,999, and can be found on sale from the Asus Malaysia eStore, their official ExpertBook Store on Shopee and Lazada as well as authorised retail outlets nationwide.
Asus ExpertBook P3 G1
Lastly we have the more mainstream ExpertBook P3 G1. While it still gets up to an Intel Core 7 255H here, it only comes with 16GB of DDR5 memory and 512GB of SSD storage as standard. It also loses the OLED panels, with both its 14 and 16-inch versions getting an IPS panel pushign a WUXGA resolution with up to 300nits of brightness instead.
You’ll find a 50Whr battery on the base model with an Intel Core Ultra 5 225H, with the larger 70Whr battery reserved for the Core 7 255H model instead. I/O though is pretty similar to its siblings, but it isn’t stated if its FHD webcam is capable of Windows Hello.
