Apple Event confirmed for 9 September, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra coming?

Barely a day after announcing the new Mac Mini and Mac Studio, Apple has now confirmed its next big launch will be happening on 9 September, 10AM PT (10 September, 1AM Malaysian time). This time around, it comes with the tagline ‘Surprise and shine’, and will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, with a livestream on the Apple website as well as the Apple TV app.
The upcoming Apple event is set to be a big one, as just about everyone is expecting Cupertino to finally announce its first foldable iPhone. Plenty of leaks hint at it being a book-style foldable with the wider form factor similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. We can also expect to see the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which should be more of an evolution of the current Pro models instead of a major change.

That being said, what you probably shouldn’t expect to see is the base iPhone 18 or an iPhone Air 2. Rumours suggest that the non-Pro iPhones will likely be pushed to sometime next year, alongside an iPhone 18e.
Incidentally, this event also marks the first to be held with John Ternus officially as Apple CEO. Apple previously announced that Tim Cook is stepping down, and that Ternus would be taking over his duties as CEO from 1 September onwards.
