YouTube Premium Lite: Ad-free experience for most non-music content, RM12.90/month

YouTube has now introduced its latest Premium tier in Malaysia: YouTube Premium Lite. Priced at RM12.90/month, it offers a mostly ad-free experience and is 38% cheaper compared to regular YouTube Premium.

YouTube Premium Lite will give you ad-free YouTube videos, ad-free YouTube Kids and background play, as well as the ability to download and play videos offline. The exception to the rule for Premium Lite however is when it comes to music-related content.

You lose access to ad-free YouTube Music, as well as music-focused content in general. This means you’ll still see ads on stuff like official music videos, covers and dance videos. On top of that, you’ll also see ads on Shorts as well as when you search or browse YouTube itself. You lose additional features too such as Jump Ahead, high quality audio and video, and for mobile users, queuing and continue watching.

• YouTube Premium – RM20.90/month
• YouTube Premium Family (for up to six members in total) – RM41.90/month
• YouTube Premium Student – RM12.90/month

For those using full Premium, either via individual, student or family plans, will continue to enjoy a complete ad-free experience on YouTube. This includes YouTube Music too, as well as the extra quality of life features like Jump Ahead and high quality audio and video.
