Xbox Series X or PS5: An Analysis Of Which Side To Be On

By Editor December 18, 2021

The question of “PlayStation or Xbox” has haunted many gamers since the dawn of the clash of consoles. This time, with the latest Xbox Series X, the PS5 and their respective variants, the battle has become even more heated than it has ever been before.

If you’re still undecided on which to choose, then you’ve come to the right place. We’re here to help you make a more educated decision on where to put your money by the end of this article.

So hold on to your gaming headsets as we take on the Xbox Series X vs PlayStation 5 face-off!

Xbox Series X/S vs PS5 Hardware Comparison

Microsoft and Sony both introduced two different versions of their newest gaming consoles.

There’s the standard PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition. The PS5 Digital Edition features the same hardware as the standard PS5 but without the disc drive.

Similarly, the new Xbox is also available in two variants: the flagship Series X and the Series S devices. However, the latter has less powerful hardware and lacks a disc drive.

Generally, the PS5 and Xbox Series X have similar hardware specifications.

They’re both capable of running games at native 4K resolution at 60 fps, and they can generate images up to 8K or 120 fps at their max. You can also expect lightning-fast loading times on both consoles.

On the surface, the Xbox Series X seems to just about edge the PS5 in terms of sheer power.

On the other hand, while the PS5 Digital Edition is just a PS5 without the disc drive, the Xbox Series S is different from the Xbox Series X. It can deliver up to 120fps and runs games at a target resolution of 2K.

Which Is Better, Xbox Series X or PS5?

Let’s go back to the original question: PS5 or Xbox Series X? Well, it depends on what you want out of the new consoles.

Are you looking for exclusives or an on-demand gaming subscription service? Do you want the immersive gaming experience that only the PS5 can provide or the convenience of playing new and old games on the new Xbox?

Why Should You Choose PS5 Over Xbox Series X?

The PlayStation platform has some of the best exclusive games that aren’t available on any other platform. You can play notable PlayStation exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Returnal and a slew of upcoming games like the God of War sequel and Final Fantasy XVI!

Additionally, the PS5’s accessories will provide you with an unrivalled gaming experience. The best example of this is the DualSense controller that lets you genuinely experience the dynamic vibrations of the game thanks to features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Game Pass is the closest we can get to a “Netflix for gaming” service. With a growing library of over 100 games for a small monthly price, it also has its own set of awesome exclusives, including Halo and the Gears of War franchises.

Furthermore, the new Xbox also comes with an exciting feature: backward compatibility. While the PS5 only allows you to play PS4 and PS5 games, the latest Xbox consoles will enable you to play any original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One titles!

So, which one do you choose?

Final Thoughts

All in all, it’s a tight battle between the two high-end gaming systems. Both consoles have their perks and flaws, but the final decision should depend on what you’re looking for in your games.

Who wins the battle between the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S in your book? Regardless of your choice, trust us when we say that you will experience gaming like never before!

OPPO Find N: Foldable Phone Made For the Masses

    By Editor December 17, 2021

Day 2 of OPPO INNO Day 2021 – OPPO reveals its first foldable smartphone which will be available for sale in China as soon as 23rd December 2021. Although it is OPPO’s first foldable phone in the market, OPPO has gone through four years of intense R&D and 6 generations of prototypes before finally arriving at the OPPO Find N.

With prices starting as low as RMB 7,699 (~MYR 5225.24), OPPO is hoping to make the Find N more accessible to people as an everyday driver.

Key Highlights of the OPPO Find N

    1. Flexion Hinge & FlexForm Mode

OPPO’s Flexion Hinge uses a unique water-drop design to solve two of the biggest pain points in foldable devices: the noticeable crease on the display and a gap between the display when folded. By widening the angle of the fold in the display and offering a buffer when the display folds OPPO is able to minimize visible crease by up to 80% when compared with other devices, according to TUV.

As a little bonus, the Flexion Hinge produces a lovely snap when folding and unfolding the display. Combined with its FlexForm technology, the Find N is able to freely stand sturdily when unfolded at any angle between 50-120 degrees.

    2. Unique Landscape Ratio

When folded, the Find N is a relatively small device with a display that spans across 5.49 inches with a 18:9 aspect ratio. While it is not ideal for consuming media over an extended period of time on such a small display, the device feels comfortable when held and is perfect for one-hand usage. With this aspect ratio, users also won’t find themselves running into issues where apps are not optimized properly.

When unfolded, users will find themselves with a generous 7.1-inch display with an almost square 8.4:9 aspect ratio. The Find N unfolds directly into landscape mode so users can watch videos, play games or read books without the extra step of rotating the device.

    3. Stunning Display

The Find N is equipped with a stunning LTPO AMOLED display both when folded and unfolded. To ensure a smooth experience without taking a toll on performance, the outer display is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate while the inner display has an adaptive 120Hz display with up to 1,000Hz touch sampling rate and 1,000 nits brightness.

The display has been tested to withstand being folded over 200,000 times while still maintaining an overall smooth folding experience with next to no crease.

    4. Flagship Camera Set

Rest assure that OPPO has not cut any corners in the camera department. OPPO Find N owners will be glad to know that the device comes with a powerful 50MP Sony IMX 766 main sensor, a 16 MP ultra-wide lens and a 13 MP telephoto lens, as well as selfie cameras on both the inner and outer displays.
