5 Addictive Word Games to Try If You Love Wordle
Are you, too, waiting for the clock to strike 00:00 so you can attempt the new Wordle of the day? If so, similar to millions of others across the world, you probably have a newfound addiction to word games!
Created by Josh Wardle for his wife, who loves word games, Wordle has since blown up and was eventually bought over by the New York Times. Of course, others have taken the liberty to create spinoffs doubled in difficulty. So, if you’d like to try them, just search up Quordle, Octordle, Dordle, or Sedecordle.
If you’re a loyal fan of Wordle, there’s no doubt that you’ll enjoy other word games too. So, here are five addictive word games that you should try while you’re waiting for the next Wordle of the day.
Word Master
First up on our list of addictive word games, we have a Wordle duplicate, the Word Master.
The mechanism of Word Master is similar to Wordle—you’ve got the gray, yellow, and green tiles that indicate your progress and only six tries too.
The catch to this remake of the original is instead of one round each day, you’ll have access to unlimited rounds of games that you can play to your heart’s content. That way, you won’t have to wait 24 hours before you’re able to play again.
Hello Wordl
Another interesting remake of Wordle that doubles as an addictive word game is Hello Wordl.
With only six attempts and the exact three-coloured blocks to track your progress, the elements are similar to Wordle. The added feature to this word game is that you’re able to use the slider bar on the top of the page to change the number of letters in the word you’re guessing.
Starting with a minimum of a four-letter word, you can choose to guess up to an eleven-letter word if you’re up for a challenge.
Absurdle
If there were an opposite version of Wordle, this word game, Absurdle, would’ve been it.
Wordle starts with a set word for all players to guess and uses coloured tiles to help you figure it out. On the contrary, Absurdle is created with the purpose of prolonging the game as much as possible and preventing you from getting the correct answer.
Absurdle does not start with a selected word initially but instead uses a player’s guesses to narrow its list of words. In that sense, there’s always a possibility that a misplaced letter in your previous guesses might not even be in the final answer.
It can either be fun or frustrating, but that’s for you to decide when you try it out!
Nerdle
Exactly like the name suggests, this word game is for all you math geeks out there!
If you prefer guessing equations and solutions, you’ve got to try Nerdle. It plays the exact same way Wordle does, but with math instead. The green tiles are in the correct spot, purple for misplaced tiles, and black for those that aren’t in the equation.
You’ve got one equation to guess every eight hours, so you’ll be able to play three rounds of this each day. If you’re good at figures and calculations, this is your calling.
Crosswordle
Combine two addictive word games and the new Crosswordle is born.
If you enjoy both Wordle and crosswords, you’ll definitely enjoy this. You’ll start off with two words of different lengths, each intersecting with the other as they would in crosswords.
Best part of this game? You’ve got as many chances as you need! You can keep trying until you get it, or if it’s too difficult, you could also choose to not complete it. Another cool aspect about Crosswordle is that it allows you to custom create a puzzle. Share it with your friends and family and challenge them to one of your own creations.
Word Games All Day, Every Day
Now with all these new choices, you can keep yourself busy with an endless variation of Wordle games. Instead of waiting an entire day for a new puzzle, try these new word games that are challenging and fun. You can play them on any of your devices, so go crazy!
