Step Into the Future: 2AM Launches Malaysia’s First All-3D-Printed Shoe Boutique

By Joshua LIN August 29, 2026

Technology and fashion have officially collided in Malaysia on 28 Aug with the physical store launch of 2AM, the country’s very first boutique dedicated entirely to 3D-printed footwear.

Located at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya (L1-231), 2AM is led by Head of Brand & Strategy Kim, whose deep passion for footwear is pushing the boundaries of how we think about and wear shoes.

Unlike conventional shoes built from a mix of cloth, rubber, and synthetic panels, every pair of 2AM shoes is crafted using a specialized machine that completes the print over an average of two days using a special material.

This innovative single-material construction eliminates traditional manufacturing waste—such as fabric offcuts—and removes the need for toxic glues, making the production process surprisingly clean and emission-free.

The resulting material is washable and water-resistant, while enabling bold, avant-garde aesthetics that standard shoe production simply cannot match—like their striking, intricate dragon-inspired design.

Walking into the boutique, you will find a versatile lineup ranging from everyday slippers, slip-ons, and loafers to full sneakers and hybrid designs. Prices start at an accessible RM389 for their 3D slippers and go up to RM1,689 for the complex Dragon-inspired pair.

Having personally tried a pair during my visit, I was genuinely surprised by their impressive durability, flexibility, and overall structure. It instantly reshapes your perception of what a 3D-printed consumer product can feel like on your feet and amazes me on how far 3D printing has come as a technology.

Not just black and white, many colors and styles await you!

As a tech and lifestyle media platform, seeing technology reimagined so practical for everyday wardrobe essentials is incredibly exciting.

It also raises an intriguing thought: if these single-material shoes can eventually be collected and recycled back into raw printing material after extended wear, it would elevate their eco-friendly impact even further.

With plans already underway to open more stores across the Klang Valley, Kim and the 2AM team are setting a bold new standard for local footwear innovation.

If you want to experience the future of footwear for yourself, visit their IOI Mall Putrajaya outlet or check out their full collection online at 2AM’s Official Store.
