Quick background of Starlink in Malaysia

Starlink was officially given the license to operate for 10 years in July 2023, as announced by Communications Minister Fadmi Fadzil.

Since then, there had been two appointed resellers – telco REDTone and satellite company MEASAT focusing on mainly enterprise customers such as oil & gas companies where offshore areas where internet connections are less reliable and slower.

In January 2024, VSTECS Astar Sdn Bhd, was appointed as one of the distribution partners in Malaysia and through their network of retailers, aimed to make Starlink available to Malaysians.

Consumers can now buy at Senheng stores

Senheng is the latest retailer to make Starlink accessible for everyday Malaysians, in line with their mission to bridge the digital divide and bring reliable internet services for everyone.

With fast, reliable internet, it enables people access to the digital world, opening up opportunities in e-learning, telemedicine, e-commerce, and overall economic growth.

Customers can get it at Senheng stores or Senheng’s online store for RM2,300 per standard kit.

As part of this launch event, customers who buy from Senheng just need to pay RM100 deposit online to pre-book and secure a unit.

Buying at Senheng also has another benefit of a varied payment options, including a 0% Instalment Plan for up to 60 months (as low as RM38.33 per month), a tailored Student Instalment Plan for up to 36 months, and a flexible Buy Now Pay Later option.
