Spellbinder 2026: Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons fest happening this weekend

Fans of trading card game Magic: The Gathering and tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons can come check out Spellbinder 2026, happening this weekend till 4 October at Level 4, LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

Spellbinder: A Magical Festival brings together two of the world’s most iconic tabletop games under a single event, where players new and old can come check out and play with others or learn more about these games. You’ll find learn-to-play sessions, tables for casual impromptu gaming sessions, tournaments, hosted D&D adventures, boardgames, booths to buy merchandise and products as well as community activities, allowing anyone to take part regardless of your experience with these games.

Organised by Animart Hobby Creatives Sdn Bhd in collaboration with local game stores Quantum Nexus, Owlbear Eyrie Ipoh, Cardcade Tabletop and Bonfire Hobby Shop, their goal is to let Spellbinder be a place where both invested players can come and play, while those who have not played before but are interested can learn the basics with others.

The main highlight of Spellbinder 2026 though will be Highlander 10K, a Magic: The Gathering tournament played using the popular Commander format. It will offer players a chance to win prizes such as a Final Fantasy Chocobo Bundle, a Final Fantasy Gift Bundle, Marvel Super Heroes bundles, Reality Fracture bundles and more.

Sign ups for the Commander tournament are still open at time of writing, and you can click here to check out Highlander 10K yourself, happening on 3 October. A side event featuring the Pauper event meanwhile will take place on 4 October too.
