Sony has brought back their fan favourite WH-1000XM4 with a refresh. The new WH-1000XM4C as it’s called, keeps the design and noise cancellation of the original model from 2020, but gets updated sound tuning, a 10-band equaliser and new colour options.

The WH-1000XM4C continues to feature Sony’s 1000X series noise cancellation, which is designed to block out ambient sounds such as traffic, crowds and other everyday background noise. It also retains the over-ear design of the original WH-1000XM4, along with a foldable design for easier storage when travelling.

The bigger change though is on the audio side. According to Sony, the WH-1000XM4C has been given new sound tuning to better match current listening preferences. Users can also fine tune the sound using the built-in 10-band equaliser, giving them more control over the headphones’ audio profile.

As for the drivers themselves, the WH-1000XM4C come with 40mm drivers, while the noise cancellation is driven by its QN1 chipset with four microphones. Just like other 1000X series headphones, cupping the right earcup mutes the ANC so that you can have a quick chat with someone. As for battery life, expect up to 27 hours with ANC on, while with ANC off you can squeeze up to 34 hours of use on it.

The WH-1000XM4C will come in three colours, namely Lavender, Black and Platinum Silver. Priced at RM1,399, it’s now available for pre-order from now till 9 November over on the Sony Malaysia website with a special launch rebate bringing it down to just RM1,099, on top of an additional RM50 Touch ‘n Go eWallet rebate.
