Sony hikes PlayStation Plus pricing in Malaysia

By Raymond Saw May 21, 2026

Sony Malaysia has confirmed that PlayStation players in Malaysia will be having to pay more for their PlayStation Plus subscription. This news unfortunately closely follows the Japanese giant raising prices for the hardware itself just a couple of weeks ago.

This new price will only affect new subscriptions, and for those who choose 12-month plans your price will remain the same. It’s the 1-month and 3-month plans though that have all gone up by RM4 per plan. While that’s not much, it will still add up over time.

Here’s how much the new PlayStation Plus plans will cost:

PlayStation Plus Essential

  • 1 month – RM39
  • 3 months – RM99
  • 12 months – RM285

PlayStation Plus Extra

  • 1 month – RM59
  • 3 months – RM159
  • 12 months – RM490

PlayStation Plus Deluxe

  • 1 month – RM69
  • 3 months – RM189
  • 12 months – RM575

Sony’s stance is that these price increases had to happen due to ‘ongoing market conditions’, but only time will tell if these prices will go back down once things have settled back down.
