4 Powerful Snapdragon 888 Phones You Should be on the Lookout for in 2022

December 11, 2021

The majority of the latest flagship smartphones have opted to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor. Given Qualcomm’s claim of a 35% performance boost and a 25% improvement in power efficiency, it is no surprise that Snapdragon 888 phones are in high demand!

Capable of enhancing photography, machine learning, and so much more, you might be wondering how to get your hands on one of these powerful phones for yourself.

If so, then you’ve come to the right place! Take a look at these four best Snapdragon 888 phones to keep an eye on in 2022!

Best Snapdragon 888 phones

1. Samsung Galaxy S21 Snapdragon 888 phones

Although Samsung was not the first to release a Snapdragon 888 phone, they remain your best choice for getting a powerful and valuable SD888 smartphone.

Samsung’s 2021 Galaxy S smartphones that come with the chip are the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. The models also include LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 memory combination and a 4,000mAh+ battery with a 25W fast charger support.

If you opt for the S21 Ultra, you will get top-of-the-line features. While the S21 and S21 Plus models have triple rear camera systems (12MP+12MP+64MP), the S21 Ultra has a quartet with a 108MP main camera and up to 100x Space Zoom!

Unfortunately, you’ll only be able to acquire a Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 if you buy the US edition. The international models will use Samsung’s own Exynos 2100 processor instead.

2. Asus ROG Phone 5 series

Asus’s newest ROG Phone 5 series proves the association of Snapdragon 888 with gaming phones.

The Snapdragon 888 comes in all three of Asus’s new smartphones. They all have nearly identical specs: a 6.78-inch display, a triple rear camera, and whopping 6,000mAh batteries. The differences, though, vary on the RAM and storage.

You can have 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage if you go for the pricier ROG Phone 5 Ultimate. The ROG Phone 5 Pro, on the other hand, has 16GB of RAM and the same amount of storage. The last choice is the ROG Phone 5, which comes with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

All in all, this trio is undeniably the best option for a gaming Snapdragon 888 phone so far.

3. Xiaomi Mi 11 series

Xiaomi was the first to announce Snapdragon 888 phones, beating Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series. However, outside of China, the Mi 11 series took a few months to launch.

Nonetheless, the Mi 11 still has impressive specifications of its own, as well as a great price to match its rival.

We’re talking about a 6.81-inch display, a powerful 4,600mAh battery, and 55W rapid charging. Xiaomi also packs the series with a triple camera, so the camera quality is also something to recognise. The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with a Snapdragon 888 processor and Android 11 out of the box, with a starting price of RM2,699.

4. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has the Flip series’s flip phone style but with much-needed improvements.

The model makes managing your notifications simpler with a bigger 6.7-inch interior display and a brighter external display. Most importantly, the Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB of RAM help boost the phone’s performance.

However, don’t expect to get the same camera performance as the S21 series. Moreover, the major shortcoming is the 3,300mAh battery, especially for a pricey flagship with a starting price of RM3,999.

But, if you’re looking to get into foldable phones, the affordable and powerful Z Flip 3 is an excellent place to start.

Do you really need a Snapdragon 888 phone, anyways?

Of course, there’s more to a phone than its chip. But if these powerful Snapdragon 888 phones are within your price range and have the features you are looking for, then why not?

A Snapdragon 888 phone is a fantastic choice if you’re a power user. They are often equipped with a large amount of RAM that can manage heavy workloads.

They are particularly excellent for gaming as they have the processing power to run even the most demanding Android games.

But sometimes, power and speed are not primarily what everyone wants for their phone, especially if pricing is a concern. In fact, for basic users, the Snapdragon 888 might just be overwhelming or unnecessary for their usage, so choose carefully before buying.
