Setel Voice Fuelling lets you activate your pump by voice in four languages

By Alyaa Najwa October 7, 2026

Setel has introduced a new AI-powered Voice Fuelling feature that lets users start fuelling by simply saying their pump number, instead of tapping through the app. Currently in beta, the feature supports English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil, and builds on Setel’s existing One-tap Fuelling feature for Petronas stations.

Once you’ve enabled Voice Fuelling in the Setel app, simply state your pump number and the app will process the transaction using your preferred payment method and fuelling preferences. Setel says it’s meant for everyone from everyday drivers and motorcyclists to fleet operators and e-hailing drivers, as well as those who are less familiar with apps or would rather speak than tap.

According to Setel CEO Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin, the idea behind the feature is to remove small, everyday frustrations rather than add more tech for its own sake.

“Being able to speak in the language you are most comfortable with is a small but meaningful part of that, because technology feels more natural when you can simply use it in your own words. We hope Malaysians will give Voice Fuelling a try and experience the difference for themselves.” – Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin, Chief Executive Officer of Setel.

On top of that, Setel is also offering a sign-up bonus for new users. Those who download the app, register, verify their account and fuel at least 1 litre will earn 5x Mesra Rewards points, capped at 500 points. The offer can only be redeemed once per user, and doesn’t require you to use Voice Fuelling. It also applies to RON95, RON97 and diesel, including fuel purchased under BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel.

Meanwhile, existing users can continue to get savings and bonus points through Setel Savers, while the Refer a Friend programme lets you earn Setel Credit and stand a chance to win prizes. Setel’s Full Thank campaign will also run from October until the end of the year, alongside other promotions.
