SAVE 4.0 Programme: Up to RM400 rebates on energy efficient air-con and refrigerators

Malaysians can continue to receive rebates when they purchase energy efficient appliances under the Sustainability Achieved via Energy Efficient (SAVE) initiative. The SAVE 4.0 program by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) was formally launched by the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad on the 10th of December 2023.
Under this programme, consumers who purchase energy efficient air conditioners and refrigerators with a 4-star or 5-star energy efficiency label from the Energy Commission are eligible to receive a maximum of RM400 e-Rebate.
This programme is set to run for 1 year, starting from December 2023 to December 2024.
The main objective of SAVE 4.0 is to encourage consumers to purchase energy efficient electrical appliances, as well as to increase the number of four- and five-star energy efficient appliances in the market.
The rebates can be attained from selected e-commerce platforms including Lazada, Shopee, TikTok Shop, Youbeli, and PGMall; as well as on registered offline retailers. You can identify the full list of registered retailers for the SAVE 4.0 initiative here.
Customers who are keen to apply for the rebates must purchase the appliance directly through registered retailers, and must bring along their electrical bills and NRIC.
