Galaxy S22 vs iPhone 13: The Display

The S22’s display is brighter, with a maximum brightness of 1300 nits. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13’s brightness only peaks at 795 nits.

Furthermore, the S22 has an adaptive refresh rate where it adjusts to your on-screen activity. The iPhone 13 only has a refresh rate of 60Hz, whereas Apple saved the adaptive refresh rate for the iPhone 13 Pro series.

Galaxy S22 vs iPhone 13: The Design

Both flagship models look similar to their predecessors. However, the S22’s back is primarily glass, unlike the S21. Due to fewer plastic components, the S22 isn’t as durable as the S21, but Samsung used the Gorilla Glass Victus on the S22’s front and back.

On the other hand, the iPhone 13 is as durable as its predecessor, but a phone case is still encouraged. Meanwhile, the S22 offers more rounded edges than the iPhone 13’s flat edges – this is more of a personal design preference and less of a debate.

Galaxy S22 vs iPhone 13: The Performance

The S22’s CPU might be the best amongst Android phones, but it’s still no match for iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic chip.

After a test using the Adobe Premiere Rush, we found that the S22 transcoded a 4K video in 47 seconds while the iPhone 13 transcoded it in merely 26 seconds.

Galaxy S22 vs iPhone 13: The Software

Both flagship phones run on their newest respective OS – Android 12 and iOS 15. Apple smartphones benefit from long-term OS support – for instance, 7-year-old iPhone models can still support the latest iOS 15.

However, Android doesn’t offer a support as impressive even though Samsung recently provided 4 years of OS updates.

On the other hand, the S22 provides a highly responsive under-display fingerprint sensor which the iPhone 13 doesn’t have. However, the iPhone 13 will soon allow its users to unlock their devices with FaceID, even with a mask on.

Galaxy S22 vs iPhone 13: The Final Decree

The newest flagship smartphones from Samsung and Apple have their respective strengths and weaknesses. However, we can’t deny that the iPhone 13’s superior performance and battery life slightly triumph over the S22’s brighter display.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Apple iPhone 13 are great smartphone contenders, each offering a unique smartphone experience. However, the choice is yours at the end of the day, coming down to personal preference.

Xiaomi 12 Series: Everything You Need to Know

    By Editor May 28, 2022

Xiaomi’s latest flagship, the Xiaomi 12 series, has finally arrived in Malaysia. The successor to last year’s Mi 11, this series is made up of the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X and all three smartphones are available in grey, blue and purple.

The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro boasts excellent performance with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The 12 Pro also comes with professional-grade cameras and a faster-charging speed than the Mi 11 Ultra. Lastly, the 12X is second to none with the Snapdragon 870 and 120Hz refresh rate.

Read on to decide if the Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi’s first set of flagship phones in 2022, is worth buying.

    Xiaomi 12 series: Audio

The Xiaomi 12 and 12X provide their users with an immersive sound. Its symmetrical physical structure ensures a more delightful stereo experience to let you enjoy your movies and music with smooth, high-quality audio.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, takes your listening experience up a notch with a quad-speaker stereo solution. With built-in independent dual tweeters and dual woofers, the Xiaomi 12 Pro provides you with everything you need to enjoy a musical masterpiece.

    Xiaomi 12 series: Camera

All three smartphones in the Xiaomi 12 series have a 32MP selfie camera at the front, and their cameras are equipped with advanced AI algorithms to take better low-light images and reduce motion blur. However, these are the only similarities all three models share.

The Xiaomi 12 and 12X have a triple camera design at the back. Both phones have a 50MP wide camera with the OIS IMX766 sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123˚ field of view and a 5MP telemacro camera for closeups.

Out of the three phones in the Xiaomi 12 series, the 12 Pro is the best for taking photos. Its pro-grade triple 50MP camera setup (wide-angle, telephoto and ultra-wide angle) lets you take top-class photos. Features like night mode, HDR and 4K 60fps video recording are supported across the series.

    Xiaomi 12 series: Battery

One thing the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X have in common is their 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.

The Xiaomi 12 and 12X have a powerful, fast-charging 4500mAh battery and 67W wired charging. Both phones charge up to 100% in 39 minutes, but the Xiaomi 12 has an additional 50W wireless turbocharging that takes just 53 minutes for a full charge.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro, however, has a 4600mAh battery capacity and is the only phone with the Smart 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge. The phone will only need 18 minutes to fully charge on booster mode. Even better, the Xiaomi Adaptive Charge helps prolong the battery lifespan and ensures safe charging.

    Xiaomi 12 series: Performance

Both Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro promise speeds like never before with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Experience groundbreaking performance with this cutting-edge 4nm process chipset, designed to let you do everything on your phone with more dynamic power.

The Xiaomi 12X is the only phone in the series with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. Widely praised for its outstanding performance, this chipset has an A77 super-large core with a main frequency of up to 3.2GHz. It lets you do everything, from gaming to audio-visual entertainment, with ease.
