ROG G1000: Ryzen 9 9950X3D, RTX 5080 and holographic fan system, from RM29,999

Looking for a sick new prebuilt gaming desktop with all the bells and whistles and then some? The ROG G1000 is the Taiwanese giant’s latest flagship gaming desktop in Malaysia, packing not just some incredible hardware but also a cool new case complete with a holographic fan system that you can customise.

The ROG G1000 is a massive 104L ATX ‘ultra tower’ that incorporates what ROG is calling the world’s first holographic fan system in a prebuilt gaming desktop. Dubbed AniMe Holo, there’s three X-shaped holographic fans making this possible—one massive 380mm fan with 720 LEDs on the side and a pair of 215mm fans with 404 LEDs on the front. Gamers can then personalise their G1000 any way they want by setting up custom animations or static images to showcase their fancy desktop tower.

Of course, the hardware under the hood needs to be equally as impressive. The ROG G1000 comes with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D on an AMD X870 motherboard, mated to an ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition graphics card. There’s also two 32GB DDR5 memory sticks in by default, though with four slots you can upgrade it up to 128GB of memory. There’s a 1TB SSD here too, with a total of four M.2 connectors and six SATA ports, while a 1000W 80+ Gold power supply keeps things running.

All of that is kept cool thanks to the chassis’ ‘tri-zone airflow’ design, with an ROG Thermal Atrium housing a 420mm AIO radiator and three 140mm intake fans in a separate chamber. This lets the CPU take in fresh air, which ROG claims can drop CPU temps by up to 16°C. The GPU and PSU meanwhile also get their own dedicated airflow zones, with the GPU drawing air from the front and bottom intakes and the PSU getting its own airflow path from beneath.

As for I/O, the front panel comes with two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port and split audio in and out ports. The back of the motherboard meanwhile has another two USB-C 4.0 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four more USB-A 2.0 ports, a 2.5Gb Ethernet port and a HDMI 2.1b output, though we’d highly recommend you use the GPU’s twin HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs instead.

Such high end hardware and design isn’t cheap of course; the ROG G1000 comes in at a cool RM29,999. Exclusively available on the Asus Malaysia eStore, if you can afford it you can probably also afford their limited bundle priced at RM32,999, which throws in the ROG Strix OLED XG32UQWMS gaming monitor too. Getting that bundle rather than purchasing the PC and monitor separately will save you RM2,650.
