RedMagic Astra 2 specs

For those looking to game on the go, the RedMagic Astra 2 packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip, Qualcomm’s current generation flagship SoC, alongside RedMagic’s own RedCore R4 gaming chip which works to improve your gaming experience with customisable in-game effects, super resolution and intelligent power management. You’ll also find up to 16GB of memory and up to 512GB of storage, along with Android 16 skinned with RedMagic OS 11.5 over it.

To keep all of that silicon cool, the Astra 2 features RedMagic’s AquaCore Cooling system 2.0, a liquid cooling system with liquid metal and an upgraded vapour chamber that also features an industry-first 4D structure with dual-side protrusions for improved heat dissipation.

The actual tablet itself comes with a metal frame and glass-accented transparent rear design, showing off not just the liquid cooling system but also RGB lighting, because you can’t have a gaming tablet without RGB of course. The display meanwhile is a 9.06-inch OLED panel pushing a 2400 x 1504 resolution, with an up to 185Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1600nits and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 over it for scratch resistance.

Additionally, the Astra 2 has a 13MP rear camera while up front is a 9MP selfie shooter. Keeping the lights on is an 8,300mAh battery with support for up to 75W fast charging via the main USB-C port on the bottom, while a secondary USB-C port on the side supports up to 40W charging. The dual USB-C ports also support reverse charging, with the secondary USB-C port also offering audio output, letting you charge the Astra 2 while using wired earphones.

Other features of note include symmetrical stereo speakers, dual X-axis linear motors for 4D stereo haptic feedback, DisplayPort output up to 4K@144Hz or 8K@60Hz, a fingerprint sensor, an IP54 dust and water resistance rating along with support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.
