realme 12 5G with Dynamic Button now in Malaysia; Price starts RM1,099
Just weeks after the unveiling of the realme 12+ 5G and 12 Pro+ 5G, realme has added yet another phone to its 12 Series lineup with the realme 12 5G.
This latest addition is the base model in the series, and as such will come with a less burdensome price tag compared to the plus and pro models. Here’s the official pricing of the realme 12 5G:

First sales for the realme 12 5G will start on 26th March, kicking off with an early bird promo which will run until 30th April 2024. During this period, orders for the device will come with free gifts worth up to RM399, including a pair of Techlife Wireless Earbuds and a 1 year extended warranty. Interested buyers can put their orders on realme’s official channels on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
The realme 12 5G bears more resemblance to its plus sibling than the Pro+ model. You’ll find a flat display here, along with thick flat side rails. Nevertheless, there’s still the massive circular camera bump housing the 108MP main camera an 2MP portrait camera. The front camera, on the other hand, keeps to 8MP.
Of the three, the realme 12 5G is the bigger phone, but only by a hairline. Displays are 6.72″, offering FHD+ (1080×2400) resolution, maximum 120Hz refresh rates, and 950nits peak brightness.
Despite being the affordable option in the series, the realme 12 5G has the honors of debuting the Dynamic Button. This feature allows the power button to act as quick access to various functions – such as sound modes, camera, and even selected third-party apps – simply by double tapping or double pressing.
Elsewhere, the realme is powered with the Dimensity 6100+ 5G chip. The device runs on a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 45W wired charging.
The realme 12 5G comes in two colour choices: Twilight Purple and Woodland Green.
