Razer Wolverine V4 series: eSports-ready controllers for Xbox and PC, from RM499

Razer has unveiled its new Wolverine V4 line of Xbox and PC controllers, comprising the wireless Wolverine V4 Pro and wired Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition. The new controllers are designed for competitive gaming, with a focus on low latency, drift resistance and extensive customisation.
The Wolverine V4 Pro uses new capacitive thumbstick sensors paired with a 16-bit ADC chip. Razer claims the sensors can register around 3,000 steps of movement, allowing for smoother tracking, reduced jitter and improved accuracy. The company also says the capacitive sensors offer better power efficiency and resistance to magnetic interference compared with TMR and Hall Effect sensors.

On PC, the Wolverine V4 line supports Razer’s HyperPolling technology at up to 8,000Hz, while Xbox Series X|S connectivity runs at up to 250Hz. Razer claims the higher polling rate allows the controller to report its position more frequently, with the company quoting response times of under 1ms.
The Wolverine V4 Pro also comes with four removable magnetic back paddles and two claw-grip bumpers. These can be swapped in or out depending on the game, allowing players to assign functions such as reloading, sliding or using gadgets without taking their thumbs off the analogue sticks.

Its Razer Pro HyperTriggers provide two trigger modes. Players can use the trigger locks for near-instant actuation in fast-paced shooters or switch to a full analogue pull for games such as racing sims. Trigger actuation can also be adjusted through Razer Synapse between 1.3mm and 8.2mm.
The controller features PBT mecha-tactile face buttons and an eight-way floating D-pad, alongside textured TPU grips. Razer is also including six interchangeable thumbstick caps, with short concave, short convex and tall concave options designed for different control and aiming preferences.

Players can save up to four onboard profiles, with each profile supporting remapped controls, sensitivity settings and adjustable dead zones ranging from 0% to 15%. The Wolverine V4 Pro also has a removable magnetic faceplate that can be replaced with other designs or used without one.
One thing to note though is that the Tournament Edition, while retaining most of the same features, is a wired-only option. You’ll still find the new capacitive thumbsticks and 8,000Hz polling rate, but you don’t get the magnetic removable rear paddles or faceplate anymore.
The Wolverine V4 Pro and the Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition are now available for purchase over on the Razer Malaysia website priced at RM999 and RM499 respectively, and will be coming soon to local retailers too.
