Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard: AI sports glasses with 3K video and voice controls, from RM2,069

For those who’d rather wear their smart glasses on a run or a ride, Oakley’s Meta AI glasses are also landing in Malaysia. The lineup includes the Oakley Meta HSTN for everyday active use and the Oakley Meta Vanguard for more serious athletes, with both able to capture first-person photos and videos, stream music, take calls and answer to Meta AI.
Oakley Meta Malaysia pricing and availability

Here’s how much the two models will cost in Malaysia:
- Oakley Meta HSTN – RM2,069
- Oakley Meta Vanguard – RM2,589
Both will be available from 20 October onwards at authorised Oakley stores, as well as Sunglass Hut, A-Look, SEEN and participating optical retailers nationwide. Oakley will also have the glasses on display at the MotoGP round at Sepang International Circuit from 30 October to 1 November.
Oakley Meta HSTN specs and features

The HSTN is the more versatile of the two, and the only one here that can take prescription lenses, supporting a range from -6.00 to +4.00. Otherwise, you can kit it out with Oakley’s Prizm, Prizm Polar, Transitions or clear lenses depending on how you plan to use it.

Built into the frame is a 12MP camera with a 100-degree field of view that records at up to 3K, which you can trigger with a dedicated capture button, the touchpad or just your voice. Open-ear speakers keep you aware of what’s going on around you while listening to music or taking calls, with a five-microphone array picking up your voice.

It lasts up to 8 hours on a charge and carries an IPX4 rating, so sweat and light rain shouldn’t be a concern.
Oakley Meta Vanguard specs and features

The Vanguard is aimed squarely at cyclists, runners and other athletes. Its frame is designed to sit comfortably under cycling helmets and hats, while Oakley’s Three-Point Fit system and three interchangeable nose pads, catering to both low and high nose bridges, help keep it in place when you’re moving fast. It also syncs with Garmin and Strava for workout tracking.

The 12MP 3K camera sits on the nose bridge here, giving it a wider 122-degree field of view to capture more of the trail or road ahead. Wind can be an issue at speed, which is why the five microphones have been optimised to reduce it, and the open-ear speakers are 6dB louder than the HSTN’s. A customisable action button can be set to start a hyperlapse or open accessibility features like Be My Eyes.

The Vanguard also steps up to an IP67 dust and water resistance rating and up to 9 hours of battery life. The trade-off is that it doesn’t support prescription lenses, coming only with Oakley’s Prizm and Prizm Polar options.
