New iPhone Fold leak shows size difference vs iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

By Raymond Saw April 9, 2026

Another day, another iPhone leak it seems, with this one being our closest look yet at the physical size and look of the upcoming iPhone Fold.

First shown by @SonnyDickson on X, these are dummies of the iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro Max, typically made in advance of the actual launch for phone case manufacturers to have a point of reference. However, it seems to have found its way online, with multiple more pictures of it along with a video showcasing how thick, short and stout it is compared to the regular slab iPhones.

It appears to be slightly wider than the iPhone 18 Pro Max when folded, and unfolds into a fairly wide aspect ratio. This is in stark contrast to the current crop of foldable smartphones of course, which currently unfold into an almost square-ish shape; the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 for instance has a 1.11:1 aspect ratio on the main display.

On the back meanwhile is a camera plateau similar to that of the iPhone Air, with a horizontal bar on the top housing a pair of cameras, likely 48MP main and ultrawide shooters. The outer display is allegedly around 5.5-inches, while the main display is approximately 7.76-inches when unfolded.

As for when it’ll launch, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman seems certain that it remains on track for a September launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Despite rumours of manufacturing issues surrounding the iPhone Fold, Gurman suggests that it will go on sale together with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max or shortly after, albeit with limited initial supply as Apple works out the kinks in the production.
