The new range of Apple Watch has finally reached Malaysian shores. You can now purchase the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch SE on official Apple platforms and authorized Apple resellers. The headliner among the 3 new models is the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple’s “most rugged and capable Apple Watch ever.” The Watch Ultra features a 49mm corrosion-resistant titanium case with a variety of features fit for an adventurer, such as an 86dB siren and crash detection notifications.

2. Apple launches the iPad 2022 in Malaysia

The new iPad 10th Gen, also referred to as the iPad 2022 is now also available in Malaysia. The iPad 10th gen is bigger than it’s predecessor with a 10.9-inch display, compared to the 10.2-inch display on the iPad 9th Gen. Aside from its display, the iPad 2022 also received an upgrade in processor, now running on the A14 Bionic instead of the A13 Bionic.

3. Nothing releases second true wireless in the form of Nothing Ear (stick)

The Nothing brand has certainly brewed up something with their second true wireless release. The Nothing Ear (stick) stems its name from the cylindrical shaped charging case, moving away from the squarish design of the Nothing Ear (1). The Ear (stick) is priced at RM469, a fraction cheaper than the Ear (1) at RM499. Though it does not have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Nothing claims that the larger dynamic driver plus adjustments to the half-in-ear design will improve sound quality significantly. The Nothing Ear (stick) does not have wireless charging.

4. RedMagic 7S Pro has entered the arena

A new flagship gaming phone contender has hit the market. The RedMagic 7S Pro utilizes Qualcomm’s latest processor: the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It is supported with a 10 layer cooling system and a built-in RGB fan to fit the gamer aesthetic. The RedMagic 7S Pro is available from the 29th of October onwards, and you can choose between the 12GB/256GB version, or the 18GB/512GB version.

5. Touch ‘n Go eWallet scams hit netizens again

A wave of scams hit the public scene yet again, this time involving Touch ‘n Go eWallet. The scam guises itself as a RM500 cash aid from the Barisan Nasional government, asking victims to verify their information by giving them personal information. Once given, your account will be compromised and money will be siphoned from your eWallet.

Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) has since confirmed that it is not a legitimate campaign by Touch ‘n Go, and asked for the public to be aware of such schemes.

6. GE15: You can now check voter registration status and voting location

With the new automatic voter registration system in place, Malaysia will see millions of young voters come to the fore as they cast their votes. Old and new voters alike can check their status and voting stations at MySPR Semak, or simply download the MySPR Semak app available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Simply key in your identity card, military service number, or police service number to view your details.

Phewww! And that’s the wrap-up for October. Let’s hope for an eventful November, and we’ll see you again at the end of the month!
