Huawei Watch GT 7 Series arrives in Malaysia on 29 September with new Diabetes Risk Study

Huawei has confirmed that its new Watch GT 7 Series is launching in Malaysia on 29 September, and the standout this time is health. The lineup lands as Huawei sits at No.1 globally in wrist-worn device shipments for the first half of 2026, with over 20% of the market according to IDC.

The headline feature is a Huawei-exclusive Diabetes Risk Study, a research initiative developed with Universiti Malaya. Using pulse-wave signals from the watch’s PPG sensor along with your age, gender, height and weight, it assesses your potential diabetes risk after three to 14 days of wear. Huawei is clear that it isn’t a medical feature, with results for reference only and not a replacement for a proper diagnosis, so it’s more about encouraging earlier lifestyle changes. There’s also a new Physical Readiness Score that rolls recovery, sleep, activity and more into a single daily reading.

On the hardware side, the series splits into the standard Watch GT 7, which comes in 46mm and 41mm sizes, and the higher-end Watch GT 7 Pro, which adds premium touches like a nano-tech ceramic bezel, a titanium alloy frame and sapphire glass. Both get a bright AMOLED display peaking at 3,000 nits, and battery life stays a strong point, with up to 21 days on the Pro and 46mm models and up to 14 days on the 41mm. There’s also upgraded outdoor sports tracking, along with everyday touches like Touch ‘n Go QR payments and ECG support on the Pro.

The Huawei Watch GT 7 Series officially launches in Malaysia on 29 September 2026, but pre-orders are already open through Huawei’s official website with an RM100 deposit.
