Huawei MatePad Pro Max: 4.7mm thin tablet with 13.2″ PaperMatte OLED display for RM5,999

Huawei has launched yet another tablet in Malaysia, and this time it’s a proper flagship class, PC-like slate. Dubbed the Huawei MatePad Pro Max, this tablet first debuted in China back in May, and is now making it available on our shores.

According to Huawei, their MatePad Pro Max features a full metal unibody design that measures just 4.7mm thin and weighs in at 509g, and offers 60% improved bending resistance with TÜV Rheinland Ultra-thin Bending Resistance certification. It comes in just a single Blue colourway, with the back panel shifting its hue slightly in different angles.

That chassis holds a full display, notchless 13.2-inch flexible OLED display in a 3:2 aspect ratio, pushing a 3000 by 2000 resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1600nits and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The display also comes with a PaperMatte layer over it, offering reduced glare and a paper-like feel when used with a stylus.

Under the hood, the MatePad Pro Max is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin T93 Pro, a 9-core system-on-chip believed to be similar to the Kirin 9030 Pro in the Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate X7. That’s been paired with 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage, and runs HarmonyOS 4.3 out of the box. You’ll also find a number of productivity tools and features such as multitasking windows and pre-installed software such as WPS Office, Huawei Notes and GoPaint.

Other features include a 50MP, f/1.8 main camera on the back, a 12MP, f/2.4 selfie shooter up front, a six-speaker setup, support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 as well as a 10,400mAh battery with support for up to 66W fast charging and 40W reverse wired charging.

The Huawei MatePad Pro Max is priced at RM5,999 and is available at all Huawei Experience Stores, the Huawei Malaysia website as well as their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. It will come bundled with free gifts worth up to RM3,154 such as the Huawei M-Pencil Pro stylus, a Huawei Glide Keyboard, a wireless mouse, a 1-year APAC warranty and a 1-year 2 times PaperMatte Display Care, while stocks last.
