Honor Choice Kumi AI Note: Ultra-thin AI voice recorder with translation and smart Q&A, priced at RM699

Honor has been steadily building out their AIoT lineup in Malaysia, and their latest addition is a pretty neat little gadget. Called the Honor Choice Kumi AI Note, it’s an ultra-thin magnetic card that sticks onto the back of your phone and turns it into a proper AI-powered voice recorder.

The card itself is barely there, coming in at just 2.89mm thick and weighing 30g, so it either magnetically clips onto your phone or slips into your wallet when you’re not using it. If your phone doesn’t support magnets, Honor includes a magnetic ring to sort that out. Despite the tiny size though, there’s a decent bit of tech crammed in, including a built-in battery that’s good for up to 24 hours of continuous recording.

On top of just recording audio, the Honor Choice Kumi AI Note can transcribe your speech into text across more than 130 languages, with Honor claiming up to 98% accuracy in the right conditions. There’s also speaker recognition that labels who said what in a transcript, AI translation, AI-generated mind maps to lay out the key points, and a smart Q&A feature that lets you ask questions about your recordings, write up summaries and the like.

You get a one-tap physical button for firing off a recording instantly, and it handles up to 600 minutes of free transcription a month. It’s basically aimed at anyone who spends a lot of time in meetings, interviews or lectures, so think executives, journalists, lawyers, students and content creators.

As for pricing, the Honor Choice Kumi AI Note is going for RM699. It’s available now at Honor Experience Stores, the official Honor website, and Honor’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.

For what it’s worth, it’s a genuinely clever little accessory if voice notes and transcription are a big part of your day. Whether you need a dedicated gadget for it when your phone can already record though is another question, but for the heavy note-takers out there, having AI transcription baked right in could well be worth the price.
