Genting Highlands entry to come with RM5 road charge from 28 May

By Alyaa Najwa May 26, 2026

Travelling up to Genting Highlands is about to come with an additional cost, as Lingkaran Cekap Sdn Bhd (LCSB), the authorised operator of the Genting Highlands road network, will begin implementing road charges from 28 May 2026.

According to LCSB, the charge will apply to permitted road users entering Jalan Genting Highlands through two entry points: Genting Highlands Entry at Genting Sempah and Gohtong Jaya Entry at the Gohtong Jaya roundabout.

For Class 1 vehicles such as cars and vans, the charge is set at RM5 per entry. Medium lorries will be charged RM15, heavy lorries RM25, taxis RM3.30, while buses will be charged RM5. Vehicles under Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 must enter via Lorong Khas or Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) lanes.

However, not all vehicles will be affected. Emergency vehicles and motorcycles are exempted without registration. Meanwhile, private vehicles belonging to public servants working at selected government institutions in Genting Highlands may also be exempted, but registration with LCSB is required.

LCSB will also roll out special arrangements for eligible permanent residents of Genting Highlands from 28 June 2026. Under this, residents can register up to two Class 1 vehicles for either a 10% lower rate per entry or a six-month season pass with unlimited entries.

These registered vehicles will need to use the LPR lanes or Lorong Khas. LCSB also noted that no charges will apply to registered vehicles before 28 June 2026.

Road users are encouraged to check LCSB’s official website for the full details, including registration procedures, exemption categories, preferential rates, and the season pass scheme.
